Long Island shelters are still trying to help animals that were affected by Hurricane Florence.
The Kent Animal Shelter in Calverton recently received 10 puppies and seven adult dogs that were in need of food and shelter.
The North Shore Animal League in Port Washington has also taken in many displaced animals from the hurricane.
