A Long Island nurse will be leading a parade honoring first responders Wednesday in New York City.

A Long Island nurse will be leading a parade honoring first responders Wednesday in New York City.
ICU nurse and Port Washington resident Sandra Lindsay was the first person outside of a trial to get a COVID-19 vaccine in the United States.
She and other medical professionals will be honored with a ticker tape parade for their work that has continued throughout the pandemic.
The parade starts at Battery Park in Manhattan at 11 a.m.
