LI firehouses to compete in 6th annual clam-eating contest
Nearly a dozen of Long Island firehouses will be taking part in the 6th annual clam-eating contest Sunday in Island Park.
The event will take place at Peter's Clam Bar.
Organizers say the competition benefits the Nassau Firefighters Museum & Education Center.
They say the contest will also features the world-famous competitive eater and native Long Islander Cookie Jarvis.
The world record is 26 dozen clams in six minutes set in 2010.
