Police say a Long Island doctor has been charged with improperly prescribing hundreds of thousands of oxycodone pills.
Officials say Dr. Noel Blackman was on board a jet taxiing on the runway at Kennedy Airport Sunday night when federal agents ordered the plane back to the gate to arrest him.
Agents say Blackman had $30,000 stashed in his luggage and was on board the flight to Guyana so he could permanently leave the United States.
According to court documents, Blackman wrote 2,487 prescriptions - totalling 365,097 30-milligram oxycodone pills - in 2015.
Blackman lives in Far Rockaway and has offices in Franklin Square, Brooklyn and Queens, according to court documents.
