Levittown woman awarded $2M in lawsuit against Nassau Police Department

Donna Cipley faced allegations of hitting a detective with a door and injuring his hand in 2019. Those charges have since been dropped.

A Levittown woman previously accused of assaulting a Nassau County detective has won a $2 million lawsuit against the police department, according to her attorney.
Donna Cipley faced allegations of hitting a detective with a door and injuring his hand in 2019. Those charges have since been dropped.
Her lawsuit claimed that she was falsely arrested and sought damages from two detectives.
A jury ruled in her favor and awarded her the money on Friday.
News 12 reached out to the Nassau County Police Department and is waiting for comment.
