The families of three patients at Amityville?s South Oaks Hospital are suing, claiming their loved ones were not properly monitored by staff.
The suit was filed by one of the patient?s fathers, attorney Bob Danzi. He says his son Jacob was admitted to South Oaks for addiction and was supposed to be checked on every hour. Jacob died while at the hospital.
The families of 19-year-old Sean Noonan and 70-year-old Margaret Meehan say if they were checked on, their deaths would have been prevented too.
South Oaks says it admits thousands of patients a year and has an ?outstanding reputation," but "privacy laws prohibit [them] from discussing the care provided to any patient."
