The owner of a Mineola apartment complex is being accused of discriminating against African-American applicants.

Two civil rights groups, Erase Racism and the Fair Housing Justice Center, as well as two plaintiffs, have filed suit against the Town House Apartments.

The case alleges that the building's owner, LLR Realty, and superintendent Jorge Agudelo lied to prospective African-American tenants about apartment availability.

The groups claim the parties violated the Fair Housing Act following an undercover investigation.
