Traffic on the Long Island Expressway could be getting worse.
Starting tomorrow, solo drivers in electric vehicles are no longer allowed to use the HOV lane, as the Clean Pass Program officially ends.
The program encouraging the use of environmentally friendly vehicles did not get federal re-authorization.
AAA says the program cut as much as a half hour off people’s commutes.
Starting tomorrow, all vehicles in the HOV lane are required to have at least two people in the car.
