Former New York Knick star Carmelo Anthony's son has found a new basketball family at Long Island Lutheran High School in Old Brookville.
Kiyan Anthony comes to LuHi from Christ the King High School in Queens.
The 6-foot, 3-inch-tall sophomore already has colleges offering him scholarships, like Syracuse University, University of Memphis and Manhattan College.
Kiyan says he wants his body and game to grow before taking his skills to the college level.
"Coming here, getting stronger and faster and working hard, it means a lot because I know what it can do for me," he says.
Kiyan credits his father for his basketball IQ - saying he taught him to be himself and to be a leader.
He says people already judge him because of his last name, which can be a double-edged sword.
"I feel like the toughest thing is maybe everyone knowing me," Kiyan says. "Sometimes I just want to go out and walk around and people stop me all the time, but it comes with it, so I'm used to it."
He says he knows some of his new teammates from playing with and against them before.
Kiyan says he feels competing with the top team and top players in practice can only make him better.
