A 10th-grade Uniondale High School student who doesn't have a driver's license is accused of stealing four cars in Nassau County.

Police say 16-year-old Jordan Jackson stole three vehicles from homes on Juliet, Glen and Woodfield roads in West Hempstead on Thursday morning. The fourth car was stolen from Hempstead.

The owners of the vehicles had started their cars to warm them and left them idling.

The stolen cars included a Toyota, a Honda and a Mercedes Benz. Police say they caught up with Jackson when he was spotted driving one of the stolen vehicles.

The stolen Honda has not yet been recovered.

In court today, Jackson was ordered held on $10,000 bail. He is due back in court next week.

Police are reminding drivers not to leave their cars idling because it attracts thieves and also because it is against the law. Drivers who are caught could be slapped with a fine.
