The New York Islanders were at the Nassau Coliseum Thursday for the start of training camp, preparing for what will be the team's final season on Long Island.
Players tell News 12 Long Island that they want to end their time at Nassau Coliseum on a positive note and hope to have a memorable season.
"The fans are going to be fired up," says forward Kyle Okposo. "They want to see a winner and we want to give them that." Other players talked about playing consistently so they can make the playoffs.
The Islanders play their final home opener at the Coliseum on Oct. 11 against the Carolina Hurricanes.
