Islanders cleared to resume games after brief pause due to COVID-19 outbreak
The Islanders are back on the ice and were cleared to resume playing by the NHL following a brief pause due to COVID-19.
The Islanders had to postpone two games because of a COVID-19 outbreak, which included eight players.
Last Sunday's game against the Rangers was postponed, as well as Tuesday's game against the Flyers. The NHL is trying to reschedule those games.
The team will play San Jose on Thursday.
Head coach Barry Trotz says four of the five players who rejoined the team Wednesday will likely play against San Jose.
