An informational meeting was held Wednesday night at William Floyd High School over the referendum to dissolve the Village of Mastic Beach.
A few hundred residents listened as a consulting firm laid out the financial pros and cons of the move.
Some residents told News 12 Long Island that they have felt a real sense of community since the village incorporated in 2010.
The vote on the referendum to dissolve the village will be held next week.
