The candidates for Nassau County District Attorney are hitting the street as they try to drum up public support ahead of Election Day.

Incumbent Kathleen Rice is running on her record, saying she deserves another four years in office for cracking down on DWI cases and targeting public corruption.

However, her challenger, Nassau Supreme Court Justice Howard Sturim, says Rice's programs are failing and that her office needs to more effectively prosecute violent crimes.

Some voters say the race for county executive between Ed Mangano and Tom Suozzi could sway the district attorney race.
