A woman who has been a lunch lady for decades at a school in Edison celebrated her 100th birthday.
Evelyn Kiss has been a lunch lady at J.P. Stevens High School since it opened in 1964, and Thursday, she celebrated her 100th birthday.
Kiss couldn't celebrate in school due to the pandemic, but she still received company to ring in 100 years.
"That is why I still continue to work,” says Kiss. “I'm an old lady, but I just seem to love the kids. They are really sweet and loveable and so nice to me. Very polite and refreshing, really good to be around. It's all been fond memories. Every day I walk in that door and go into that kitchen, it's a fond memory,” she says.
Kiss says she cannot wait to get back to school.
