The Islip School District superintendent says the person who is accused to have made threats against the district has been taken into custody in another state on unrelated charges.

Superintendent Dr. Dennis P. O'Hara said, ""This situation was obviously disturbing and troubling. First and foremost, we’re concerned with the safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff. I am relieved the police know the identity of this person and that for the time being he is in custody. I am extremely grateful to our security team, the Suffolk County Police Department, and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office for their diligence and commitment to our safety.”
