A Huntington street was renamed today in honor of a beloved first responder.
A portion of Railroad Street was renamed in memory of Capt. Alison Russo.
Russo was a longtime member of the Huntington Community First Aid Squad and was fatally stabbed in a vicious and unprovoked attack on a street in Queens in September.
Russo was also an FDNY EMS lieutenant who was posthumously promoted to captain in October.
