Friends and family paid tribute to a Sept. 11 hero from Huntington Station Saturday.
Scott Blackshaw’s block on Valleywood Drive was renamed in his honor, "NYPD Officer Scott Blackshaw Way."

Blackshaw worked at ground zero after Sept. 11 and served with the NYPD for over 20 years.
He died on May 20 of a Sept. 11-related cancer.

“My brother probably had one of the highest moral compasses I had ever seen, had very strong integrity, very loyal to his friends,” said Blackshaw’s brother, David Blackshaw.
