A Huntington couple who brought home their new baby from the hospital during this weekend's winter storm decided to be playful when it came to naming her.
New parents Mike Bennett and Rachel Williams named their first-born Summer.
"It's very ironic that we said, 'Aw, she's going to be very chilly this winter. Let's give her a nice warm name like Summer,'" Williams said.
Summer Lena was born at 6 1/2 pounds and 18 inches long.
It was a joyous time for the new parents as they brought their bundle of joy home on the same day as Long Island's first snowfall of the season.
While the snow totals remained low, Summer's parents said they were excited to see the flakes.
"It's been a while. She helped manifest this snow for Long Island. We're happy to see it," Bennett said.
"It's a cold day to bring a little Summer home," Williams said.
