Hundreds of protesters raised signs and their voices outside the office of Congressman Peter King (R-Seaford) Sunday. The demonstrators are opposed to King?s sponsorship of legislation that could label immigrants and those who help them felons. King also wants to erect a 700-mile long wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Protesters call the bill an un-American, unfair crackdown on undocumented immigrants. Congressman King says his bill is an effort to beef up national security and he won?t bow to public pressure. A different bill that would have given undocumented workers a chance at citizenship failed to pass in the Senate last week.
