Hofstra University professors could go on strike five days before classes start and weeks before the presidential debate.
The contract for Hofstra professors expires tomorrow at midnight.
There are over 700 professors who could walk out Thursday, which would affect the first day of classes on Sept. 6.
The presidential debate is Sept. 26 at Hofstra.
Hofstra says negotiations are continuing and that they hope an agreement can be reached this week.
