Hit-and-run driver strikes, kills 72-year-old in Glen Cove

UPDATE 11/26: Police say they have arrested 70-year-old Carol Cashman, of Locust Valley, in connection with the incident. Cashman was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with death. She appeared in Hempstead court on Monday, Nov. 26. The original story is below.
Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a 72-year-old man in Glen Cove.
Police say the unidentified man was crossing Brewster Street around 11:15 p.m. when he was struck by a light-colored BMW that kept going.
Police believe there is front-end damage to the car and a broken windshield.
Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
