A Riverhead church opened its doors for the first time Thursday night since its roof caved in.
As News 12 has reported, the First Congregational Church on Main Street closed in July after serving its community for more than 100 years.
Contractors say the roof was about to collapse and the walls were being pushed apart.
After extensive repairs, the church opened its doors for Mass on Christmas Eve.
