The Hempstead School District is stepping up security in the wake of a stabbing Monday at Hempstead Lake State Park.
The district says special guidance and grief counselors were also on hand Tuesday at the high school.
Sources tell News 12 that a group of six teenagers attacked three other teens with a knife and machete at the park.
The suspects are still on the loose. News 12 is told they attend the high school.
