The Hempstead Town Board approved a master plan Tuesday for developer Bruce Ratner to renovate the Nassau Coliseum.
The approval also sets the stage for new construction around the site.
As News 12 has reported, the plan calls for a scaled down coliseum with 13,000 seats. The site would also include restaurants and a movie theater.
The developer hopes to get construction underway near the end of the summer.
