The latest winter storm was one of the largest the Lower Hudson Valley has experienced in recent years, with many areas, such as White Plains, breaking their daily snowfall record, which was set back in 1988. With the last official report of 10.5", and many sharing that they saw close to a foot when it was all said and done.
Now that the storm is over, clean-up is underway. Be prepared for another blast of arctic air tonight that will be reinforced throughout the week. Winds will be breezy near 30 MPH tonight and through Tuesday.
Air temperatures will go from the teens to single digits by morning. Wind chill values will be from -5 to -10 degrees in the morning and near the single digits in the afternoon. We cannot emphasize this enough for you to dress warmly! The wind chill values will be so cold that 30 minutes or less outdoors with exposed skin could lead to frostbite.
These dangerously cold temperatures are expected to persist throughout the week, with minimal improvement anticipated through the weekend. Looking ahead, snow is once again within the realm of possibility toward the end of the weekend. Recent guidance has been pulling down on that chance, but we will monitor any changes to the storm throughout the week. A reminder to keep up with our forecast on the latest details for the potential storm.
