HEAT ALERT: Temps to hit near 90 degrees Tuesday across Long Island

A few showers and perhaps a thunderstorm will roll through Tuesday night bringing an end to the heat but temperatures stay above normal for much of the week.

WHAT'S NEW: Hot weather coming up after a great Memorial Day. Temperatures on Tuesday will be top out near 90 degrees with near record-breaking heat.
WHAT'S NEXT: A few showers and perhaps a thunderstorm will roll through Tuesday night bringing an end to the heat but temperatures stay above normal for much of the week.
OVERNIGHT: Partly cloudy and warm. Lows near 67. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny and hot. Highs near 91 degrees. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy with the chance of a few showers and a thunderstorm. Lows near 60. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny with the chance of showers and storms by Wednesday evening into Wednesday night. Not as hot with highs near 75. Lows near 60.
THURSDAY: Partly sunny. Highs near 77. Mostly cloudy at night with the chance of showers. Lows near 60.
FRIDAY: Morning clouds to afternoon sun. Cooler with highs near 73. Lows near 58.
