Strong rip currents kept swimmers out of the water at Robert Moses State Park Tuesday morning, leaving many to wonder what far off Tropical Storm Hanna has in store for Long Island.
Red flags remained posted until 1 p.m. for fear the rough surf could be dangerous for swimmers.
Experts are not sure if Hanna, more than 1,000 miles off Long Island, is responsible for Tuesday?s rip currents or Monday?s erosion. If the storm stays on its projected course, New York State Parks Regional Director George Gorman says Long Island could be impacted.
