Uniondale residents are rallying to make sure their community's interests are included in the new Nassau Coliseum lease.
Greg Maney, of the Greater Uniondale Area Action Coalition, claims developer Forest Ratner committed during a hearing at the county legislature to approve the original lease where he would enter into a community benefits agreement. However, Ratner has since backed out of that commitment.
Maney says the group is calling on the county legislature to ensure that any amended lease benefits not only outside developers and investors, but also tax-paying constituents.
