A Greenlawn mother and father are honoring a bucket list their daughter never got to fulfill.
Donna Desousa-Schmidt and Steven Schmidt's daughter, Maggie, died from a rare cancer in 2017.
"She made a bucket list with seven items," Steven Schmidt says. "My wife and I have been checking off an item every so often."
Donna Desousa-Schmidt had planned to jump out of a plane to honor her daughter's bucket list Friday, but weather stopped that from happening.
Instead, a U.S. Army Golden Knight landed at the Maggie Missions "Angelversary" Gala.
Both parents are now helping to fund research for pediatric cancer through Maggie's Mission, a charity that also pays for children with cancer to cross something off their own bucket list.
Scientists are using Maggie's tumor to develop better treatments.
