New York's eviction moratorium is set to expire in less than two days, possibly forcing some Long Islanders out of their homes.
New York is hoping that new federal aid will keep that from happening.
Gov. Kathy Hochul and governors from three other states sent a letter Thursday asking the government to release additional federal rental relief.
Currently, $18 billion in emergency funding remains unused.
