The National Guard is taking Gov. Andrew Cuomo's citizen preparedness program to Bronx residents.
The program teaches people what to do and how to act in the event of an emergency, whether it be terrorism or natural disasters such as hurricanes or blizzards.
The program gives each attendee a to-go package that includes items like water, food and a first aid kit. The National Guard encourages individuals to add things to the kits, like medications and money.
Gov. Cuomo and his team have a goal of getting 100,000 people to participate in the emergency preparedness classes by the end of the year.
