Residents in Glen Cove were told Thursday it is safe to consume the water.
The 'do not drink' advisory went into effect Wednesday after a power and warning system failure at the city's water tank a day earlier.
The city's preliminary tests found no contaminants, but Glen Cove Mayor Ralph Suozzi said the county still conducted its own set of tests before giving the thumbs up.
Before consuming water, officials advise residents to flush out the pipes by running faucets for three to five minutes.
