A Glen Cove man has pleaded guilty to murdering his ex-girlfriend a week after she broke up with him.
Jose Cartagena admitted stabbing to Yanira Estella Canjura Martinez while she was on her way to pick up her 5-year-old daughter from school.
The incident occurred last year in a parking lot on Glen Street in Glen Cove.
Prosecutors are asking for Cartagena to serve 20 years to life in prison when he's sentenced in December.
