Glacken’s Bar & Grill in Mott Haven closed its doors on Monday after serving the community for more than 80 years.
The bar opened in December 1940 by Tom Glacken's father.
He told News 12 Monday that his father, brother and son all spent time serving as owners of the establishment.
Glacken also told News 12 that the most important reason for staying open for so long was the working community around their Mott Haven location.
Many patrons News 12 spoke with called the bar "one of a kind," and highlighted how it opened early every morning to serve workers getting off the clock at any time of the day or night.
