Loved ones said their final farewells today to two NYPD officers from Long Island killed after a wedding celebration.
Funerals were held this morning for Officer Michael Colangelo, of Huntington Station, and Detective John Martinez, of Hauppauge.
A funeral Mass for Colangelo was held at St. Edward the Confessor Church in Syosset this morning.
Mourners gathered to remember Martinez at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Smithtown.
Investigators say Colangelo crashed a rented Maserati upstate Sunday just hours after his wedding reception. Martinez was also in the car.
Colangelo and Martinez died at the scene.
A Wantagh man in the back seat survived the crash.
