The funeral for 15-year-old Nisa Mickens was held Wednesday morning at Rose's Funeral Home in Bay Shore.
Visitation for Cuevas was held Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Michael J. Grant Funeral Home in Brentwood. A second day of viewing will be held Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Mickens's body was found brutally beaten on Stahley Street last Tuesday night. Cuevas was missing until her body was found a couple hundred feet from Mickens's body on the next night. Police say she was also beaten to death. The two girls were best friends.
Police say they believe the killings to be gang-related.
During a community forum Tuesday night, police asked the public for help in finding those responsible for killing the girls. Suffolk Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information can call 1-800-220-TIPS.
