Funeral held in Northport for FDNY firefighter who died from COVID-19

A funeral was held for FDNY firefighter Christopher Viviano at St. Philip Neri church in Northport on Monday.
Viviano lived in Connecticut but grew up in Northport.
The 53-year-old died last week from COVID-19. He is survived by his wife, three children, his parents and brother.
This past weekend, Viviano’s body was brought back to Long Island.
Viviano was a member of the FDNY for 22 years and was active up until his death. He was assigned to Ladder Company 157 in Brooklyn and was a 9/11 first responder.
Viviano is the 16th firefighter to die of COVID-19 and the second who was still an active member, according to the department.
