FTC bars TurboTax from 'free' marketing services

Ahead of tax season, a popular software was found to be tricking customers.
The Federal Trade Commission has ruled TurboTax is running ads for “free” services. However, the services are not free for everyone, such as those who must file 1099 forms.
The FTC ordered parent company Intuit to stop the “free” services.
Intuit recently settled a lawsuit for millions of dollars for steering people in low-income areas away from free tax help.
