Officials say free beach parking may be an option for Suffolk County residents on hot days. 
A Suffolk lawmaker wants the county to waive the $8 parking fee at all county beaches when the National Weather Service issues a heat advisory. 
Leg. Jay Schneiderman says the measure is aimed at protecting residents, especially low-income families. 
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone supports the proposed legislation.
