2ds agoA former volunteer firefighter from Wading River has pleaded guilty to impersonating an NYPD officer.
Mary Ortega was accused of responding to shifts and a fire call while wearing an NYPD uniform. She also admitted to buying and using a forged NYPD ID card and shield.
The 46-year-old was suspended by the Wading River Fire Department last year.
Ortega was sentenced to three years' probation.
