Former Congressman George Santos is expected to be sentenced to prison for fraud on Friday.

Prosecutors have asked the judge to sentence Santos to seven years and three months in prison. They argue the sentence is necessary - citing recent social media posts - they say cast himself as a victim.

Santos admitted to deceiving donors and even stealing some of their identities to fund his winning campaign.

Santos has also agreed to pay roughly $580,000 in restitution.
