Former Knick John Starks took part in a summer reading program Tuesday.

Starks joined Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray at the Baldwin Public Library.

Both emphasized the importance of reading while on vacation to keep the mind sharp.

Starks signed autographs for many of the participating children, who were given other free handouts as well.
