Loved ones are remembering the victims in Monday’s Massapequa crash that killed a father and two of his children.
A 32-year-old man hit 60-year-old Patrice Huntley’s car when he and his family were stopped at a traffic light, police say. The collision killed Patrice Huntley, his daughter Hannah and his son Jeremiah.
Jermaine Howard, a former colleague of Huntley, says he was a proud Marine veteran who worked to help other veterans and the community.
“He loved working for his community,” Howard says. “He loved working for veterans.”
Howard says Huntley help him secure a job in 2019 after serving with the Army in Kuwait. He says Huntley taught him to always help those who served.
“As a veteran, that it is probably my responsibility to carry on that torch,” Howard says. “…It is my job to pick up the torch and also continue that fight to continue to assist veterans”
Family members say Hannah loved to draw and Jeremiah loved playing video games.
The family started a GoFundMe to help with expenses.
Police have not released the identity of the man who they say caused the crash.
