Suffolk County police arrested five teenagers who they say burglarized a Bayport apartment on Friday.
Several residents in the apartment complex on Terrace Road were home when police say five teenagers kicked down the front door of an apartment, repeatedly hit and punched two 15-year-old boys in the head and body and stole one of their phones.
One of the victims suffered severe swelling, bruising and cuts and was sent to the hospital, according to detectives.
In court Saturday, the five suspects, including 19-year-olds Adrian Mackrodriguez, of Copiague, and Nicholas Squiciarino, of West Babylon, were charged with first-degree burglary and held on either $20,000 or $25,000 cash bail.
“He has no prior criminal history, no prior criminal record. He’s still presumed innocent. We will maintain his innocence until and unless his guilt is proven,” said Pierre Bazile, the attorney for Squiciarino.
The three minors were taken to a juvenile correctional facility.
The victim who was in the hospital is now home and expected to be OK.
The five suspects are due back in court Tuesday.
