A dozen tenants and their pets escaped an early morning fire today in Brookhaven.
The apartment building fire happened on South Country Road near Montauk Highway. Firefighters say the flames were shooting through the roof when they arrived.
The building contains apartments, businesses and a barber shop.
There is no word yet on a cause.
