A raging fire that tore through a home on Cedar Avenue in Medford left a family without a home.
"I immediately ran into the house and just saw fire right in the living room of their house, and I called 911," said Anthony Garci, of Medford.
Anthony Garcia lives next door and says it was his family's house that was on fire.
His sister, Stephanie Garcia, says she lives there with her aunt.
They weren't home at the time, but she tells News 12 they lost everything.
"Everything that we would've used for our daily needs, those small things that you don't think about, it's all gone," she said.
Garcia says they had just finished breakfast on Sunday, and everyone left to run errands.
"Within seconds, everything can change," said Garcia.
Garcia says her grandmother and brother were both treated for smoke inhalation when they ran into the burning house to see if anyone was home. She says, unfortunately, there were more severe casualties - two of the family dogs died in the fire.
Garcia says Cookie and Brownie were more than just pets - they were part of the family.
"It hurts. There are no words whatsoever. Just love your family and appreciate everything you have because you never know when it's going to be taken away," she said.
Officials are working on figuring out the cause. They say it appears to be non-criminal.
The family members who ran into the burning house say they saw the Christmas tree on fire.
