It's an unprecedented time to be in New York City. New Yorkers are experiencing weather they have never seen before.
Brushfires are popping up across the five boroughs, and the FDNY reports that number at over 230 in the last two weeks.
A Red Flag Warning was issued Friday for critical fire weather conditions in New York City for 7 a.m. Saturday through 6 p.m. Saturday due to the low humidity, gusts around 25 to 30 mph, and already concerningly dry conditions.
This is in addition to the burn ban already issued by Gov. Kathy Hochul.
