More cats rescued near the Happy Cat Sanctuary continue to arrive at a warehouse facility in Holbrook.
Organizers tells News 12 that about 230 cats are being housed and cared for at the site.
As News 12 previously reported, about 150 cats were killed at the Happy Cat Sanctuary in Medford two weeks ago, along with the sanctuary's operator Chris Arsenault.
Volunteers say the priority right now is providing the best care for the animals despite reports that the felines were ready for adoption.
"Any cat that is care at our facility is not being adopted at this time. We are still in the process right now securing cats on the premise at that point we are working reputable large 501(c) organizations that will be taking those cats under our supervision into their program," explained Jim Oliva, of Feral to the Family.
Organizers tells News 12 they hope to have all the cats at the warehouse examined and vaccinated by Sunday night.
