LI woman accused of stepping on black students to teach them about slavery
A Bronx teacher from Long Island made the cover of the Daily News Friday for her controversial lesson on slavery.
The paper says Middle School 118 teacher Patricia Cummings, of Farmingville, traumatized her social studies students a few weeks ago.
The report says Cummings singled out black students and told them to lie on the floor for a lesson on U.S. slavery.
Students say she stepped on their backs to show them what slavery felt like.
Cummings has been reassigned.
